Pirate Kings is one of the casual games owned by Playtika. It is a slot based game, where you need to build your island, attack other pirates islands and steal from the cash king. 

 

​My role is to create a wide range of graphic assets that align with the monetization team’s strategy and address the overall visual needs of the game. I am also responsible for delivering visuals that enhance communication and engagement within Pirate Kings’ Facebook and VIP communities.

Mothers day

Intro:

In Pirate Kings, the slot machine includes a progress bar that fills as players spin. Multiple bars are available, each offering different rewards once completed. To enhance the gameplay experience, we regularly wrap this feature in themed designs and create promotional campaigns around it—giving players more reasons to engage and encouraging increased spinning activity.

Art concept:

The theme of this promo was Mother’s Day, and the core question we aimed to answer was: What would resonate with mothers around the world? My solution was simple yet heartfelt — memories. I developed a concept where Jack, the game’s main character, creates a DIY photo album for his mother. Each photo represented a milestone on progression bar. 

The main headers designed as childish hand writing and rewards as stickers. The album’s pages were brought to life with playful, childlike drawings, capturing the warmth and nostalgia of handmade gifts.

st' patrick's pot of loot

The brief:

Create a promo in St' Patrick's Day theme. Tell players there are milestones on random bars which contain prizes.

Art concept:

Players need to spin, fill loot bars and collect St' Patrick's keys. Keys open pots of loot with different prizes. Keys and pots have different rarity. The higher the loot bar completed, the higher the rarity of the key discovered, the higher the loot pot and the prize it holds.

The visuals are a combination of existing background illustrations and new elements I created to integrate game assets into the concept — such as bombs inside the iceberg, an iced seahorse, and more.

Ice Breaker Rolling Promo

The brief:

Create a rolling promo of several challenges which shows players their progression. Winter theme.

Art concept:

I didn’t want to go with a generic winter-Christmas presents concept, so I decided to make Jack, the main character of the game, an icebreaker. The prizes for each challenge are frozen inside icebergs, so when a challenge is completed, Jack cracks open an iceberg to reveal a prize. Each challenge is designed with a winter theme.

Promotional Island

"Promotional Island" is the internal name for a new game feature. It’s based on the mechanics of an upgradeable island, where players are required to enhance the items provided. The feature’s theme changes each time it’s released in the game.

The first version was launched under the name "Jack's Cabin", where players needed to upgrade Jack’s personal items placed on a table.

and the story is...

Red, the main antagonist and the greatest enemy of Jack and Juliette (the game’s main characters), has stolen the jewels from the Cash King's crown and hidden them across various fairy-tale worlds.

Juliette, a strong and powerful pirate, sets off on an adventure to defeat Red and recover the stolen Crown Jewels. To succeed, she must journey through each of the enchanted worlds (the maps of the Pirate Adventure) and reclaim the jewels one by one.

Pirate adventure

Pirate Adventure is one of the core features of the game. It includes multiple maps, each containing a series of steps. At every step, players encounter enemy ships that must be bombed in order to progress. A Grand Prize awaits at the end of each map!

The goal was to increase player engagement with the feature by introducing a storyline that accompanies the player’s journey.

Pirate Powers Icons

The idea was to refresh the gameplay and increase player motivation by introducing new symbols to the slot machine. When a player lands on a symbol shown on the loot bar, their prize is boosted according to the game's economy. Each time the symbol appears on the slot, the reward increases — but the symbol’s "power" is time-limited.

I was provided with three initial icon sketches. My task was to develop a full series of icons and a logo.

pirate album logos

The Pirate Album is a feature where players collect cards through gameplay, achievements, or in-game purchases. The album allows players to track their collection progress and unlock rewards by completing sets—or even the entire album. In some cases, players can re-complete the album to earn additional rewards.
 

Each album has its own unique theme and a logo presented in two variations. I was responsible for designing these logos, ensuring they aligned with the theme and visual style of each album.
